I’m inspired by regular kids like me who use their talents to help others. I started thinking about my talents and how I could use them to help the orphans in Africa. Since I love to knit, I came up with a plan using that talent. I wasn’t sure it would work, but I talked to my Dad anyway. He told me it would be a lot of work. I began to knit dishcloths and planned to sell those. I also came up with a design for an old fashioned looking yarn doll with button eyes. My sister Hope bought the first doll and sent me on my way.
When I went to visit my Grandpa Jack in Nebraska, I told him about my idea. Then Grandpa Jack told everybody he saw about my dolls and about my mission. He helped share my goals with lots of people and now I’m ready to get the word out, too! I’ve had lots of support and encouragement from my family and friends, and that means a lot to me. I know my Dad’s right. This will be a lot of work, but when I think about what we’re doing together, it makes me so happy.
